2 questions on interior and tail lights

I replaced the brake/taillights on my Berlina over the weekend with LEDs. Cruise control works like it should. No resistor needed.

in asking the 2nd question, I'm wondering now what's the advantage of using LEDs for the tail lights. seems none to me?

The advantage is mostly cosmetic really. They look brighter and ...... prettier. However, that said, they do light up in a split second, much faster than incandescent bulbs, which might be the difference between someone being millimeters off your bumper in an emergency stop and being halfway into your boot. And they last longer than incandescent bulbs (or should, all things being equal).

any thoughts on using red LEDs for brake light? Just wary it won't give enough light to be usable
