2004 Holden VZ Monaro Reverse Camera

First of all im sorry if im posting in the wrong section so forgive me all

my question is ive ordered a new headunit for my vz monaro along with the revese camera, i looked online on how to install but no luck really. Any ideas on how to please? or a guide through would be great, TIA and sorry again

I put the USB outlet in the console. I’ve done that on my old VE Calais and my other VZ Crewman.

I made a power source from the rear light harness, not the main harness. No butchering of that should be done.
Use the reverse wire in that sub harness for the trigger. Monaro should be the same (colours) as that shown in the link.
You need an Earth. That’s easy.

(I think I also tapped the brake light, but that’s for something unrelated)

Then I have the cable and the reverse signal wire taped together. Run them through to the front.

I have a plug and rca terminal in the kick panel so of I ever need to work on the dash, I’m not pulling the whole camera through and having a bigger job.

On another note, before you install the reverse camera, you can get a Birds Eye view kit now. Just like in a new car. Plugs into the camera input on the headunit. You install a camera on the front and a tidy fitting set of cameras for the mirrors.
