Keep the maf, the difference between maf and mafless on a ve is nothing as long as your tuner can tune.
Ls1 mafless all the way - l98, ls3 etc.. keep the maf.
I run a vcm, other then the air filter taking a little time to remove replace and re oil. I cant fault it.

What ever you get, buy an extra filter panel so you can remove and replace instantly.
Then you can hose off the other, let it dry and re oil ready for the next air filter change down the track.
