My 2010 ve calais has been giving me a Check Engine light warning. I took it straight to my mechanic and it showed a fault in the coolant level sensor. The level was fine? The mechanic cleared the fault and told me to see if the Check Engine light comes back. It did a week or so later, with the same result. He then changed the sensor and cleared the fault. The Check Engine light came back on a couple of week later. Mechanic had the same reading (coolant level sensor)? The mechanic then replaced the water cap with a new one cleared the fault and two weeks later the Check Engine light is on again??? I have yet to take it back to my mechanic as I have already spent $$$ to find it has not fixed the problem? Does anyone have any clues as to what step I take next? Thanks
Hi
My VE anniversary did a similar thing,I had to change radiator cap old one perished new 140Kpa was fitted and I topped up radiator it was full of water.
The coolant wasn't showing full so I added coolant sold by holden then two weeks later the engine warning
and orange icon showed its head again so I cleared the error with Key and trip together then turned key on and off four times fixed it.
Yesterday as soon as it reaches a certain temperature it comes back on & NOW X CONTACT DEALER I was out the front Sutherland Holden they checked my battery ????? for voltage then put car into nutral and cleared by key contact dealer started car and booked it in for tuesday ECU HISTORY DIAGNOSTICS to find errors as they have been cleared by a reset service and engine orange icon done by holden mechanic I am not driving it until I take it to them Tuesday seems related to HEATING CAR OR TRANSMISSION FLUID TEMP SOME SENSOR IS CAUSING THIS I HOPE THEY CAN FIND AND FIX IT
I have books a holden Boss owned Calais from new and I have seen it's been serviced every service at 10,000KLM everything timing belts etc have all been done at 180.000 car drives wonderful just lost with this one issue and it's finally posted in right place I hope.
