Anyone bought / test driven one of these things?
Interesting to compare it to any of the late model HSV (even GTS) as the specs are in the SRT's favour:
0-100 faster, same stopping distance, better ET, slightly better cornering on the skidpad...

Plus the interior / trim / tricks level is hard to beat. This spec is not off-road version per sé.

Seriously considering it for next upgrade, what do you think?

For some reason jeep has a really bad name here.
I personally think they look very similar to an x5.
Ive seen quite a few around sydney, mostly white and imo look awesome.
the only thing I dont like about them is the poor fuel economy, other then that, very nice ride.

however the newer fwd jeep looks like...

The reliability of Jeep here isnt real good. Couple that with high cost of replacement parts its not a great mix.

I think some of their stuff looks fantastic. I was even looking at a Chrysler 300C before I brought my SSV and although its not a Jeep, those Hemis arent a bad engine.

Really? I was under the impression that the little box jeeps (unsure sure of the name/badge) are a decent off roader. Guess not.
Honestly though other then maybe driving on sand or very easy off road tracks, who's going to really take an srt8 to the extremes off road.
Its more of a soccer mums car that dad can enjoy.
On a side note.
Think ml63, x5m, cayenne, q7 v10 ect... never go off road but can tow a trailer/horse and still play sports car when needed.
The hard question for me is would it be worth buying the new jeep when for the same money you can have one of the others I listed just a few years older. Will still have all the fruit (if not more) but have a better prestige about it. And more respect and quicker and more then likely a better drive etc etc...

The "big whoop" is they are making half decent looking cars at a reasonable price. Kind of like kia and hyandi.

Advertising at its best.
They got you to say it. ;-)
