Hi all,
The cruise control simply stopped working. No dash light and not engaging. Any thoughts on the likely issue? Thank you.

Hi Geof6666, Opened the fuse box in boot. Cannot see one listed for cruise control. Is it linked with something else. Thanks.

There are a number of factors that could cause your problem. You really need to get your car scanned to determine the actual reason for your problem. Refer to the attached:

Is there anything else not working, especially stuff controlled via the steering wheel buttons?

If so, and there are no DTC’s (fault codes) to guide you, I’d suspect the clock spring has failed.

Being a series 2, which started September 2015, you shouldn’t be years out of factory warranty so consider going to the dealer and pushing them to fix it under your statutory warranty rights (ACL) or goodwill, whatever floats their boat ;)

PS: I don’t thinks DTC’s can be set if the cruise control switch return wire within the clock spring is broken... in that case the BMC just doesn’t detect a key press as the unpressed state is 0v (no set voltage from the resistor ladder within the switch set).

Check your brake lights are working, if the switch is dodgy it can upset things.
