202 to 308 gearbox

i have a 202 injected motor in a vk with a m76 5 speed...and want to put a 308 into it, will the m76 bolt up to a 308 if the bell housing is changed?

It could but, the gearbox is a very weak one, won't last long with that 5 speed.
