Gday blokes Is this the only 4wd thread here? Yesterday when I was working on my mates disco 1 v8 with him we got into the hypothetically my 4wd would beat yours in drag race as the only time either of our cars would really get rev'ed past 3500 rpm is when there in low, the race won't be happening .What would win a 1997 3.4 v6 Toyota Prado manual or a 1994 auto v8 land drover discovery 1?

My money would be on the Prado. The 3.9L Disco is a slug off the line, the V6 Prado is pretty quick. But your question is only really 4WD related because both the vehicles just happen to be 4WD.

1997 3.4 v6 Toyota Prado manual 142 kW at 4800 rpm with 298 Nm at 3600 rpm
1994 auto v8 land drover discovery 1? 142 kW at 4700 rpm with 340 Nm at 2600 rpm

more torque, at a lower rpm.
weight should be simmilar

Gearing has to be taken into account, 5 speed versus a 4 speed ZF....I would still bet on the Prado.

Prado, 0-60 mph 11.1 seconds
Discovery 0-60 mph 11.4 seconds.

Just found that on the net.

Nothing much has happened with my Pajero lately so here's an old pic from a weekend away somewhere I forget. A little too much speed meant a hairy ride down a dusty rock slope.
