In need of some advice - ive done some search's and thinking it might be the hall effect sensor ,

Ok , So i changed the inlet manifold gasket and i now have no spark ,
so i changed the coil - no spark still
changed the ignition module - still no spark

the car started and ran fine prior to changing the inlet manifold gasket .
could my problem be the hall effect sensor ? or possible something else ?

its hard enough to change the dizzy cap - can the hall effect sensor be changed without removing the dizzy ?
if not can the dizzy be removed without taking the inlet manifold off again ?

thanks

No , And yes.

Its tight but possible to remove the dizzy without removing the manifold.

Have you checked to see you have not dislodged any plugs or pinched any wires ? There is only the one plug containing three wires that runs to the hall effect sensor in the dizzy, If any are damaged it probably wont have spark.

Dizzy must be removed and pulled to bits to replace Hall Effect Sensor....

I can confirm that you don't need to remove the inlet manifold to remove the dizzy but again it can become really tight to remove.
Line up timing marks with the crank and also remember to mark the teeth of the dizzy or take notice because it is important you get the right tooth in for timing.

Yeah sounds like the HES.

I find it easier and quicker to remove the inlet manifold, once I did it with the manifold in place and when I reisalled it I was a tooth out. So it took me longer in the end.

I have head of people removing the gearbox from the Xmember and jacking the box up slightly giving you more room to work with when doing the dizzy.

I'm inclined to agree with DavoVP. It's unlikely that you have damaged your Hall Effect Sensor just by removing the inlet manifold. It's more likely that you damaged/disconnected some wiring and/or the distributor itself. Did you remove the distributor cap or any of the spark plug leads when you removed/replaced the inlet manifold? Did you rotate the distributor at all - if you did your timing will be out.
