Hi all, I have a problem in my Vl executive 87, when i drive it on a main road above 80km/h it begins to whine and i think its coming from the front of the car but im not too sure.

I have replaced the front wheel bearings
Is serviced every 1000 kms
new brake pads and brake shoes on rear.

any info would be appreciated

so its speed related? try and record the sound.
i had a whine which started at about 50 kms and i replaced my bearings and problem solved.
but as u stated u have replaced your bearings.
did u replace them properly and not over tighten but took out the slap?

Yeah I thin it is speed related, I haven't heard the sound at any other point in time. But yes, I replaced them and didn't over tighten. Could be from the power steering could it? i Have to fix it tomorrow when i have time but i have an air bubble in the power steering system so i need to bleed it and get that out as it wobbles/shakes on full lock doing u-turns.

dont have cheap ling long directional tyres they can make some pretty horrible noises.swap tyres front to rear and see if the noise moves

Woops 10,000kms*. But I try and service it earlier so it lasts longer as its very tidy for its age. I have changed all the tyres over a few times and they are decent brand tyres, and even used 2 sets of tyres.

Fixed the air bubble in the power steering but the noise is still there. If I cant figure out what it is I might go over the whole car when I re-spray it and replace everything like bearings and bushes, rods, power steering rack, recon trans, diff and just go over everything and see if that fixes it.
