Air conditioning weird smell?

When ever I start the car and turn on the air con, a vinegar smell comes out for 10 seconds then it goes away.
What do you think it is???

This is a common problem for all air conditioners (in a car or not), and is caused by bacterial growth. In cars it often happens when the drain gets clogged. The system doesn't dry out completely and bacteria starts to grow.

The anaerobic bacteria create acetic acid as a byproduct of metabolism.
