If you are driving for a long time on the highway the compressor will turn itself off for a period of time to give power to the engine and to protect the compressor.

Interesting proposal...how long would it turn off the compressor for? I would think that modern components these days should be able to run 24/7 with no issues.

they switch on and off as required all the time
i have noticed that if you give it a bootfull it will drop out the compressor just for the few seconds you want full power
