Was just wondering if there were any accountants floating around on the boards?? Tax time is approaching and i was doing some looking around on the net regarding my possible refund (or bill :boxing:).

I just have a few questions regarding the medicare levy and possible tax offsets etc...

Cheers

The tax offset is $1500 for low income earners,I think the surcharge is 1% of your taxable income on top of the 1.5% medicare levy that tax payers pay.If you earn over $80,000 and if you havent got private health insurance you have to pay the extra 1%.So if you earn $80,000 and dont have health insurance then you will have to pay $2,000 for this levy
