Hey

I'm after someone/someplace to install my new CAS into my VS. I'm in Dandenong. Proximity would be preferred. How much am I looking at for the labour? (I will provide the CAS.)

Thanks

took me 3 hours, but that was with an extra half hour's worth of trips to the auto one to get parts for a harmonic balancer puller that werent supplied.

have you found any one yet? how come you cant do it? you seem to know?

CAS = Crank Angle Sensor

I've got one.. Got it new for around $50.

I would do it myself, it's just that ive read that you've got to be really careful and that it's hard to get the harmonic balancer off without the right tools...

I've read elsewhere on this forum that it can cost $60 ??

i bought the tool for $25.
just make sure you get three 80mm long, M6 thread bolts, and some washers, to suit the harmonic balancer as the bolts supplied in the balancer puller tool set are usually too big.
you will also need a decent 24 mm ring spanner to undo the center bolt that holds the balancer to the crankshaft.
be careful of your radiator and hit that mofo with a hammer so it undoes it without turning your motor over.

i changed this bout 3 years ago when my old ladies vr harmonic was stuffed. i cant remember really well but i do remember that i didnt use no tool. all i did was use somthing like a screw driver to lever those small bolts then i undid the big bolt. and walla done presto. wasnt that hard was also my first time doing one. if i was still living in dandy which was a week ago id drop by and do it for ya but im all the way down sunshine now. hope all goes well for ya mate
