I'm a school based 1st year apprentice mechanic, one day a week

Probly explains why I havn't got my dream VP calais yet :bang:

but my boss says I'm so good I can complete a 4 year course in 2 1/2 :yeah:

so I'll be one about $1000 a week once im 19

Haha. What a joke. Just like your other post which you started "Being a Mechanic..."

You're living in a dream world mate.

White collar vs blue collar. You might as well argue whether air is better than food.

to all those electrical apprentices out there, heads up, our eba is currently being reviewed, and if your a apprentice you can expect a extra amount of money heading your way.

i know my wage is expected to jump by $3.11 a hour once it is a proved, so you can expect the same amount yourself

and to all those apprentices out there, in other trades, keep it up guys, your wage may be **** now, but you can laugh when your a qualified tradie earning over 100k a year and ejoying yourself.

on a side note, i think those in the medical proffesion do get underpaid, i.e. nurses and the fella who takes the x-rays, and scientists also.

Which union are you with up there in QLD? Sounds like you guys have it pretty good up there. Our EBA expires next year and will be renewed then... negotiations will be tougher than usual due to the economy at the moment, but an ETU rep was telling me last week that we can expect the usual 5% wage increase per year and they're also looking at other things like all over time being double time, instead of the first two hours being only time and a half.

That would be the late Mr. Thomas Edison, who then went to create General Electric, or as we call it 'GE', GE then created GE Money who I work for :D

Thomas Edison - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

what? hes dead? thats the first im hearing of this :p

but yeah, as said before, the white vs blue collar argument is just stupid. both need each other to survive
