Ive heard nothing but good about these things. I've noticed VY Factory shifters feel absolutely lifeless as compared to a VE-VF.
You notice a massive difference?

No idea, my manual conversion didn't come with a shifter so I just bought a ripshifter straight away. VE manuals I've driven aren't that impressive in comparison.

Get it in, you'll ask why yourself why you didn't do it sooner haha. My VZ shifter was lacking in feel and accuracy, until the ripshifter went in. On my Calais I bolted one on before I got the box in it, now I just think they're required epuipment.

Thats what everyone keeps saying. It should arrive tomorrow or friday as soon as i get it.. its going in lmao.

I got the street version, is that what you guys are running?

jump in a Getrag Manual with worn out bushes.
ask yourself, when is the biscuit mix finally stirred enough?
then go back and compare it to anything else.

after such time youll think your standard shifters are just fine

lol. one of the VEs I drove felt like poking a stick through mud...

Street shifter. Given my rubber seal piece is shagged I thought the car was loud enough as is.

Reminds of my old 304 with a getrag behind it. "Is that a gear? Let the clutch out... nope that wasnt a gear. Try again..."

So this arrived

Pain in the ass job but i got there in the end.
Took it for a spin around the block :banstick:
Must say it is a MASSIVE improvement, slightly louder in cabin though not by much.
No matter how hard i try i cant make it miss 3rd now.

You need to use the red threadlocker loctite on those shifter link bolts or they will come loose in a matter of days.


Also, how much of a giant pain in the arse are those 4 nuts under the car that hold the shifter boot in!! What a stupid place to put them -__-
