Auto in an 8?

I'm thinking about getting rid of my 96 ecotec exec and getting a 96 efi v8 exec lol! Same model, same features, but power of V8 :king: haha. Just wondering though...the guy reckons that the transmission in the 8 is slipping sometimes. How much would i be looking at for a reco? Or a straight swap? Thanks all.

My VR V6 costed $1400 to get a reco transmission, since the original one wouldnt go past second gear. Thats for a V8 one too, the mechanic told me the one he actually put it was for a V8, so it would last me longer.

Runs really well now though, its really responsive compared to how it used to be

i havent heard of a good reco for under 2k.. $2500 if you want some fruit.
