VY 5.7 Calais S2
Model: 2004 VY Series 2 Calais HBD
Color: Syracuse MKII (gold)
ODO: 212xxx
Engine: LS1
Transmision: Auto

Hi guys.

Finally got my first V8!

bought it as a repairable writeoff minimal damage nothing structural.
repaired most things except some parts were so cheap it was stupid to even consider repairing.
also gave it a full service
Leads, Plugs, O2 Sensors, Oil Air and Fuel Filters

been wanting a VY II Calais and this popped up in the right colour at a reasonable price. i really like everything that was changed from series 1 to series 2. especially the front end and tail lights. i do like the series 2 rims but these HBD ones are growing on me.

wanting to keep it pretty stock i think it looks great from the factory.

it has these HBD Extras
- 18" Alloy Wheels
- GPS (Satellite Navigation)
- Leather Trim (Incl. Seats, inserts)
- Pedals - Sports
- Scuff Plates by HBD
- Spoiler - Rear

Current Mods/Things done
- Recleared headlights (look like new again now)
- Painted engine cover black
- Strut Brace
- and few other little bits and pieces
- full service
- black floor mats (completes the whole black interior now)
- fixed center console compartment lid working properly (lid latch was broken)
- fixed center console rear compartment lid (had slid out of the guide)
- sourced small trim pieces that were missing

Undecided Mods
- removing the spoiler. not a fan of them but it doesnt look too bad and is starting to grow on me / also PITA having to weld the boot holes up
- would like it an inch or so lower but really like the FE1.5 ride. will probably keep stock
- fixing the Rear main seal leak. car has cost me enough now so will try some rislone rear main seal repair otherwise might have to get it fixed. depends how much oil it wants to leak
- swapping the center console lid for the cup holder center console
- exhuast (only wanting a nice quiet V8 sound not the non existent V8 sound it currently has)

Future mods/things to do
- tidy up the gutter marks on the rims and repaint or change rims
- new gear lever
- both front door speaker covers broken
- sill skirt cover rubber torn
- bonnet insulator pad
- rhr door outer door seal rubber torn
-new calais badges for rear doors
-source 40mm towbar tounge

Definitely need some pics brother. Calais without a spoiler is a lot better Imo. If you don't wanna weld up or plug the holes try and track down a cheap boot lip without the spoiler to swap.

getting there guys
got lovely all black interior but need something better to take a photo than my phone or the time to do it during good daylight

yeah im not a fan of spoilers but think it would only look good if it was dropped a few inches. they vy ss looks good dropped with no spoiler.
any ideas on how to make the rear end look better?

Maybe it's just me, new pics don't work either.. Sounds nice, can Definetly pick up a cheap exec boot. Looks much cleaner.

I used photo bucket. If that helps plenty of image hosting sites though.

I cant see them either but have the same problem at home and work. Both computers are using Google Chrome so perhaps it has something to do with Chrome itself.
