My VX when starting is dropping to 8.80 volts and when just on acc it is 12.30

Battery does loose charge over night or anything just when i go to crank over the car there is nothing but everything else works out fine.
Got told on forum before was the key no i havnt replaced it as i had a mechanic look at it and was a loose earthing to the block of the motor. Was fine for awhile now doing the same i have checked the earth and is fine

Cheers

check how many amps the starter motor is drawing. if its over 160 amps then you should look into getting a new starter motor.
just make sure the battery is fully charged when checking this

you an raa member at all? if so get a member test done at a raa contractor workshop during the week, doesnt cost you anything and will tell you what state your batteries in, what your alternator is charging, and will check starter motor current draw and static current draw when the ignitions off.

if not then you need an amp meter
