Just wondering if anyone knows of a kit to do boot kit and bonnet gas strut conversions.

Found the bonnet mod on eBay just working on the boot lid

I've got the bonnet one on my car. Much easier than the prop.

The boot one is tricky since the VH won't have any mounting points for it.

Post is a great read and exactly what I'm looking for. For me up here it seems the kit is the cheapest way to go as wreckers don't keep the cars mentioned.

No drilling required when using commo vb-vl wagon struts with the 4 bolts that have ball end on them..can also get them off vr-vs

2nd can get lucky $10...kinda prefer good used ones as some aftermarkets launch bonnet up like a rocket haha

Boot struts normally used on brocks as spoiler weight used to drop/shut boot...Calais might have them but never looked or bothered tbh

Search "VH Boot spring install", locate member "Lewie" #18 post on this forum.

His are horizontal rather than vertically mounted as mention above. He used VT Clubsport boot gas struts as they have to lift the spoiler on the boot as well.

I purchased the simple HDT assist boot spring kit, but wasn't not much cop with the weight of the Group C 3 piece wing (it's likely to be ok with a smaller spoiler).

I ended up buying a WGIT kit for my bonnet and boot lid. Will update with pics and a quick "how to".
