bonnet scoop

new to this group but just wondering i not long ago put a reverse cowl bonnet scoop on my vs an it designed for it have been driving around in my local town cops haven't bothered about it then the other night cop from another town pulls me over an defects me for it reckons that if hit someone i will injure them are they a legal in south Australia

Im assuming your regional, if so it should only be a cop shop inspection. check its compliant and get the defect removed or scoop if not

No idea what that means in S.A if you live more than a 100k from the Adelaide cbd you dont have to go to regency
they will tell you were to go

If you live within a 100 kilometre radius of the Adelaide GPO, the vehicle must be inspected at:

Vehicle Identity Assessment Station

It all depends if its a tier 1 2 or 3 inspection which is upto the person booking you. tier 1 normally is just down to a local cop shop

I'm fairly sure the regs relating to bonnet scoop is, no forward facing openings, no sharp edges and must be able to see 11M in front, from seat height....And no I haven't read the regulations.

Oh and if the defect hasn't been attended to, it might be best to ask what they think of A9X bonnet scoops....They would be a defect too, if that's the case.

Providing the OP's location is correct, Millicent is about 450K away from Adelaide....A VIS is a vehicle inspection station, and their would probably be one in the vacinity of his location...More likely Mount Gambier.....Unfortunately I lost contact with a mate in Millicent so I am unable to confirm this.
