Hey All,

Just looking at the brakes I have inherited on my 84 VK.

It appears I have on the rear WB callipers (Girlock stamped & Holden)

It appears I have VR/VS callipers on the front

It appears I have a VR 15/16 PBR MASTER CYLINDER on it as well.

What can I do to gain better braking? I was thing if going DBA slotted discs on the front with extreme (orange pads).

Will changing the discs & pads simply fix the issue?

Any advice will be greatly welcomed.

Thanks

All OEM brakes VB-VS were fairly average.

Your best basic brake upgrade is fitting VT style brakes, including the brake booster and master cylinder.

There should be conversion kits available or you can build your own kit and source individual parts.

Fitting DBA rotors and good pads will improve braking on what you have but I believe upgrading to VT style brakes is a better option.
