what diff gears, the 3.07/3.08:1 standard auto gears will make it a pain to get 11`s, 3.9:1 however......

3.7`s are fine its a bee`s dick to 3.9, and only manuals run 3.46:1, Auto SS`s are 3.08:1 and HSV 3.07:1, with the VZ SSZ been the only exception @ 3.7:1 (VT-VZ)

edit. you will get 11`s no prob.

I run a 3.73 diff.. Arent standard auto ls1 gears 3.46:1?

Only the HSV VY2 GTS300 and VZ 297 autos ran 3.46 all previous V8 autos HSV and Holden ran 3.07.

I believe the VY2/VZ part :)but the Holden range still ran 3.08:1 not 307:1.

I note in your diff ratios above you say the V8 auto has 3.08 and manual has 3.46, well 3.46 says the rear end is M80 (normal for a V8) but 3.08 is a M78 ratio which is normally a V6 diff.
What ratio does your diff side plate say because every bit of info I have searched through today says Holden V6 auto ran 3.08 M78 diff unless upgraded with heavy duty M80 option then it comes with a 3.07 M80 diff as fitted to all V8's and Superchraged V6 autos.
The 3.08 and 3.07 gear sets are not tranferable between M78 and M80's.
Some later Holden V6's came with the M80 diff as a heavy duty option.
Just side note for others reading this is that heavy duty does not mean it is fitted with limited slip centre it just means the gear set is shot peened for extra strength.
Limited slip rear ends should have a separate LS tag fitted to the drain plug.

The above info starts with a Holden V8 base only, not a V6 so the diff was factory fitted 3.08:1.
