Hi guys, I'm doing a cam install on my VT LS1 have a few questions before I start..
Parts I'm using-
Comp cam 232/234 112LSA
PAC beehive springs
Cam tech guy say I'll be making approx 380-400rwhp
Q1.standard fuel pump yay or nay
Q2.lifter tool (used to hold lifters up while swapping cam) where to buy worth the money any info would be good.
Q3.air tool fitting for spark plug, where to buy?
Q4. Can I drive to dyno for tune once it's install or will I need a tow truck?

Thanks heaps guys

1. Nope, grab a walbro, bro!
2. Rocket, VPW, speedinc, summit
3. Make one
4. Will run like a bag of pus, don't strain it anymore than you have to. You don't think a workshop is going to push it onto a dyno after it comes off the hoist, do you?

Regarding Q2, I have been told that once you remove the pushrods, just turn the cam a full revolution, and the lifters will stay up out of the way.
Is this true?

Just a thought, if you have the standed VT LS1 engine with the 853 casting heads , maybe look into calling commwreck for a set of 241 casting heads they will flow alot better and only cost $200 from them guys . or if your lucky 243 :)

I have answers if anyone needs the info-

1. Standard fuel pump is fine only need to go bigger if boost is involed.

2. Make your own OR use 16 magnets.

3. Cylinder presurization kit $20+post (Crane cams part number 99474-1).

4. Can drive to workshop for tune IF you live close (I would just get a tow).

Hope this helps with anyone else doing a cam install ;)
