Camshaft actuator seals

Hi everyone, I’m looking to do my camshaft actuator seals but I’m not 100% sure which way the seals are supposed to face, just looking to see if anyone can tell me which way they go

The side you could hypothetically fill with water.

Have a look at the way in which your old seals face and do the same

think the bottom pic is correct

The top pic is the correct orientation. The wider tapered face faces outwards, towards the radiator.
