1998 vt s-pack supercharged
gday folks

I have a VT 98 S Pac with 316000kms on the chassis with a fairly new built engine (289BHP) and box with $$$'s spent.
My problem is my car is just falling apart and I need a chassis with less Km's, so I was thinking about pulling motor n box out of it and dumping it in a newer model with low KM's and am liking the VY Calais or S pac's, Ive looked for vx's but most have over 200000Km's on them. Is the 98 engine into a 2003 vy much of a drama and whats involve as the engine and gearbox build owes me too much to just get rid of.

Any help or ideas would be great

Cheers Lads

is it body work, interior or chasis/suspension
you are probably better off time and financially to fix what is wrong

All of the above I can swap engines and do all the work myself and I work FIFO so financially no dramas I love the engine I built just hate the car as it reminds me of my ex wife so really I want to burn it on her front lawn as that car as she is, is dead to me.

So engine transplants whats my options sort of want something a bit newer a few mod cons as the old beast never had electric windows or none of that jazz

well from memory VY will be a fairly easy swap
you will need to change a bit of wiring but should be straight forward

From memory it should just be a case of splicing the two harnesses so the vy harness will accept the gbox loom for the 4L60e from vt? Yeah?

The legality of doing it will be the problem. You're putting an earlier type motor into a later model.
Emission controll standards changed over the years.

But both run a 3.8 ecotec and vy come out with a supercharged engine in certain models could I not incorporate the vy's emission control

Pumba83 can you toss up pics of your car ?

are you not able find a VT/VX chassis /body

better than yours..... but worse in power train (doesnt have to be super charged you are swapping anyway )

for less than $1200 in your Bunbury area

to swap your good bits into .... to get a great vt supercharged car ?

If moneys not much of a concern then just find a nice VY calais it should be an easy enough swap.
