abba_fan - will do now... edit: didn't work :(

TigerVX - even if i start it in safe mode, when I right click, it doesn't come up with the properties option

Here's what should work for you. Open LimeWire, go the the Library tab. Look for the file in your shared files. If it's not in your shared files, add it to them. Then select the non-deletable file, right click it and select delete.

The newest LimeWire's/FrostWire's seem to be unable to delete individual files like the one you mention.
So, if the above doesn't work, try delete the folder which contains the file. Of course before you do that, you should move all your wanted files out of it. Anyhow, either way the file should now be dead and gone.
