lol, good on ya's! Wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?

Do you realise what happened LAST TIME we banned trouble makers?

You all started pissing and moaning about how rough the moderators are and how we ban at will and when we feel like it.....but you asked to ban the trouble makers.

Make up your mind.

Thats why it would be good if you could ban them from just the pub area. That way they cant bitch about being banned and have a chance to redeem themselves in the other areas of the forum.

That's certainly doable J_D and has been done for other parts of the forum, it has shown to work the only problem is if they really wanted to get up someone's nose it only take a few moments to create another account and start all over again.

I would love to put someone who always whinges about mods being unfair etc in the hot seat and see how loved quickly they drop it because it's all too hard.

Are you going to go to all the effort of creating a whole new user group? Watching all the members to see who should be moved? Moving all the accounts forwards and backwards based on their behaviour?
WE DO HAVE LIVES YOU KNOW!
It simply isn't that feasable time wise to do this, closing a thread takes two seconds. Perfect example is the thread this one relates too. I closed it because it was not going to go any where...........and what has happened too it, it's gone off topic.

it actually ws going somewhere when you closed it you just didnt think it was but to us others it was good
all it needed was a few posts deleted and would be all bcak on track
why try a admin popping their heads in put it back on track and go
if ppl dont get it ban the ones causing trouble
its not just this thread its heaps threads get closed because mod didnt think it was good but lots of others did

ps im not having a go at mods they do a good job but lets not forget its fir the ppl too not just mods

What it comes down to is a simple concept called being proactive. Most mods have been members here for years, some of us have been mods for years. After a while you get to know what sort of threads are going to degenerate into slanging matches. Then you can go 2 ways you can nip it in at the bud before the crap hits the fan or you can wait for the inevitable then clean up all the crap. What do you reckon is easiest?

Does it make that much difference in a general members life if a provocative conversational thread gets closed? I doubt it, and if it does perhaps that member needs to get a life. But leave these threads to turn to crap and it makes a difference in the life of the admin/mods who have to clean the crap, we all have jobs and a lot of us have families and partners and every minute we spend cleaning this crap is time we could spend doing something more worthwhile.

So now do you get the idea why some of us would rather spend the couple of seconds being proactive, clicking on close thread rather than half an hour being reactive to the crap?
