Central lock sometime!!

HI All, Recently had the drivers side door central locking mech replaced as it was dodgy but it sometime still doesn't unlock! i can hear a faint clunk from the actuators in the doors but no unlocking. if i am hearing a clunk i assume that the remote is working and sending signals to the car. Any thoughts on whats next to look at and check?
Does the remote need battery changes or is it charged from the cars ignition?
Thanks

Sounds like another dodgy actuator.
And no. The battery on the remote doesn't charge from the car. Once it's flat it's flat. It's only a common lithium battery with soldering tabs. You can either try to replace it yourself, if you're good with a soldering iron, get the fob apart without breaking it and you can get the battery.
It's easier to get a new one.
