dirty hands, you done it again. Remove starter to inspect it, problem found and solved! New starter motor. Promotec, glad your problem is solved

Have had similar noises in the VT before, but a different cause. The Relay on the top of the starter can jam closed. Often a tap frees it. Usually occurs after a high current event, leaving some micro welding going on in the relay.
