Guys

I damaged a rim when entering a Coles Express Car wash the other day and quite simply the reason was because I could not guide my car through the rails.

Since speaking to them I have learnt that cars with aftermarket items of any description are basically not supposed to go through the wash. I own a VE with aftermarket rims and they said because they were not factory fitted I had no recourse.

I wont go into the full debate we have had but I am interested in peoples ideas or possible similar problems.

Thanks.

Hey Adam.

Mate definately get a copy of the Terms and Conditions and also the proof that the car came with the 20" rims.

The T&Cs should advise who to contact re claims etc. so that'd be the best way to go with it i'd suggest mate. If not T&Cs there should be a list of them as you enter on a board at the very least. Get a crisp photo of that and check it out.

Hope you get it sorted out.

It pays to at least ask the question and make it known at the time it happens no matter what the damage. That way at least it is recorded by someone at the time etc and no hassles coming back at a later time/date when it can't be proved.

I had the guard on my Pontiac smacked up due to misplacement of jack however didn't notice it for 3 weeks so I had nothing to come back on. I tried but couldn't prove it had happened at the particular shop. Didn't cost me anything to have it fixed but none the less.......

Obviously you must. When I started to drive in I noticed it was very tight. Then I felt contact on the left side. I stopped and opened my door to notice I had less than 2" inches of clearance on my side.

IMO, I should have more than 2" of space either side of 2tonne commodore to manouvre. Obviously you don't agree and have far superior skill than me

Rims are 5 spoke and hacked a bit out of one of the spokes. Then there are small indents on the other spokes. The amount of damage is insignificant. Wheels were perfect before attempting to use someones 'service'

Now one is rooted and I simply don't agree it's my fault

That part usually helps.............. dont yah think?

I would never use one of those car was machines. Way to heavy handed on your vehicle.

Learn from your mistake, buy a bucket and a sponge. Problem solved.
