I remember when I was working at
GM-H in Dandenong. There was posters plastered all over the place advertising the Sunbird. There was never any pics of it just a big spiel about "the new Sunbird is coming " we were thinking maybe it's an Aussie version of the Firebird or something. Boy were we pissed off when we found out what it really was.

My favourite (but pretty crap images now) ...........
.......... Torana vs Corvette.
Helped to convince me to buy a LH, but I couldn't afford to insure a SLR5000, so a SLR3300 just had to be nearly the ducks nuts............. wrong :(

Interesting read for someone who never saw any of the advertising really.

Nice to see my car at the end (albeit red) at the end.

This sort of advert would be soooo incorrect now ............

Not a cup holder, infotainment screen, or dubiously pretty young person to be seen.

Might be the equivilant of someone coming out the closet with their sexuality, except they were at work.....The mallet was there just in case the person in the boot got offended...:)

Of course these days, saying such things can get you in a bit of strife... :) So I'll stick with your explanation
