QUOTE (Darren @ Oct 20 2003, 08:18 PM) Cool thanks for that Garth, then it's the same one as I've got here.
1. Ensure the motor is at operating temperature (then switch off).
2. Turn ignition to ON position but don't start the car.
3. Remove Engine Control/BCM fuse no 29 which should be a 10amp.
4. Wait 20 seconds for the speed alert to chime.
5. Turn the ignition OFF.
6. Replace fuse no 29.
7. Follow the following idle learn procedure.
Anytime you drop the power out to the BCM the learned idle is lost. For example a flat battery.
Automatic Transmission
1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Replace fuse no 29 if you haven't done so already.
3. Turn OFF the A/C.
4. Lift up the handbrake and put wheel chock the wheels.
5. Start the engine.
6. Ensure the engine coolant temperature is more than 80 degrees.*
7. Put the gear selector into DRIVE.
8. Allow the engine to IDLE for 5 minutes.
9. Put the gear selector into PARK.
10. Allow the engine to IDLE for 5 minutes.
11. Turn OFF the engine for 30 seconds.
Manual Transmission
1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Replace fuse no 29 if you haven't done so already.
3. Turn OFF the A/C.
4. Lift up the handbrake and put wheel chock the wheels.
5. Put the gear selector into NEUTRAL.
6. Start the engine.
7. Ensure that the engine coolant temperature is more than 80 Degrees.*
8. Allow the engine to IDLE for 5 minutes.
9. Turn OFF the engine for 30 seconds.
* To check the engine coolant temperature do the following
1. Turn OFF the car's ignition.
2. Hold down MODE and UP buttons on your trip computer.
3. While still holding the buttons turn ON the ignition so all the lights illuminate on the instrument cluster.
4. By using the MODE button you are able to flip through all the available information, when you get to TEMP just make sure it reads 80 degrees.
Hope this does the trick.
If you could let me know either way that would be great.
Cheers
Darren
EDIT: lol Garth beat me to it
thats PCM has lost power or been reset.
