just a quick question, what came first. The Holden Monaro, or the Pontiac GTO?. Speaking of the modern cars.

The Monaro. Then the GTO was exported.

Huh, I was just wondering because the Monaro looks so ugly with the pontiac front on it

It was made for the Aus market, and then exported. The pontiac front is of similar design on all pontiacs cars.

hmmm its a nice car and with out the vettes you would not have your nice modern v8s in your holdens !!
rember these engines from the old zr1 were detuned to go in the hsv when they first went to ls1 engines !! and thats and old engine design for the corvette .
then there are the corvette zr1s that came out factory with the twin turbos !! in the 1990s and they were one of the fastest cars of the time as they could go 340km hr from factory :)
so that sort of makes it a super car does it not ??
and then they have the new blue devil vette and that will hand it to any of the other vettes hands down .
and to say corvettes have no racing heritage is crap as they have been racing corvettes for years in America and they have a race series just for them much like the 911s do.
so super car yes if you get the right one !!
and affordable probably the cheapest supercar or car that could be called that with the nissan gtr . maybe not as cheep over here in aus and nz but in america yes . And it also can be used for a daily and to say its as much a super car as a hsv etc well um 2 doors !! stiffer body etc make sporty car 4 doors = family car :)

the new corvette Z06 and ZR1 definitly don't have leaf springs in the rear. try independent on all 4 corners

the Corvette has always had 4 wheel independant suspension, but I believe they use a transverse leaf spring on the rear instead of coil springs. (A single transverse mounted spring that is linked to both wheels) Not the traditional leaf spring, live axle setup as we are usually familiar with. Both sides still move independantly like any other independant setup, they simply share one spring. This spring setup would also act as a stabiliser bar

this is the type of setup
