3.27 gets you the best 1/4 mile times.

3.7 best for every day driving and very fast from lights but you need good tyres

3.45 wouldn't bother. Might as well go 3.7 for the money

2.9 with converter is what the yanks use.

What the.........????
This forum has so much awesomeness!!

I was going with 3.45s, but have since changed my mind to 3.7s. Looking to do them soon.
Just keep an eye on ebay.I got a great set of second hand 3.7's from a maloo(done 24,000km) for $380 to my door step.

It cost me about $700 to get them fitted. If i was to do it agian,i would just buy a complete diff from GMMotorsports for $1,575.00 with 3.7's.

Cars in the USA are running 11.6 with stock ratio or 3.27. Anything more and it
Just fries the tyres. 280+ kw I would go 3.27. anything under obviously go a higher ratio

That's just my opinion. Protek ute had 3.45 and he said 3.27 would have been perfect

can anyone tell me what rpm you sit at in a auto with 3.45 gears when travelling at 110km/h?
Also, how much quicker over the 1/4 mile would the car be in comparison to the stock 2.9 diff?
Im considering doing the diff as a stealth upgrade for acceleration.

Around the 1900-2000rpm mark... about 3/8ths of fark all more than stock gears.

I've got 3.45 gears and I have an auto....11.9 @ 123mph. No tyre frying with MT ET streets. Only reason the ET is not so great is because I have over 1000nm of torque trying to force it's way thru the A6...I've got about 350-370rwkw...
