diff gears

I often thought of fitting a 4.11 diff ration, but with a normal 5 speed, with a really tall 5th speed cog, so I could still sit it at 1500 at 100k, but i could use 1-4 for the strip. does anyone forsee any problems with this setup?

How much do you like changing gears You'll get sick of it very quick man. You'll be changing into 3rd at the end of the intersection

I have a VY II S Crewman. The diff has died (as they are know to do) I was looking at replacing it with a nine inch. Does anyone have any ideas? What do you think it would cost? How much work?

my ute sits on 2500rpm at 100kmph in 5th gear is this normal, on the diff theres a metal tag saying high performance, has it had a replaced diff or gears.my mums auto vx 6 only sits on 1500 at 100kmph.

You state in your ride your ute is a VY SSS v6, so i'll assume its an S. Mine sit's on about 2300 @100km/h and i haven't played with it.
