Do my demerit points reset to 0 after license suspension?

Caught speeding twice within a 10 month period, given 6 points, only allowed 5 though since I'm on my P's.

I have an option of either 12 months with 1 point or 3 months with a license suspension.

I'm going to take the 3 month option, but do I get a fresh start on 0 demerit points once the 3 month period is up?

But I'm afraid I slip in that 12 month period!

And I just read that after the 3 months the points will reset to 0, leaving me with 5 points of safety lol.

in qld (i think vic is inda the same?) i got suspended for 6 months(like ages ago being a #### head! lol) for doing 142 in a 100 zone (if i had my picture taken about 20 seconds before hand i would have lost it for good)...got 6moths instant suspension.

anyway i got 6 months mandatory suspension and a 3 month suspesnion as i was on p plates at the time) but they both ran at the same time meaning i only had a 6 moth suspension.

i got my 4 point quota back after the suspesnion. however this was about 3 years ago so i dont kno if its still the same i have my opens now...been n i fora couple years and have not had any fines etc since

No. You will still have to wait 3 years for each offence.
