door handle squares

On the door latch (used to open the doors) on the inside of the car, behind are some squares in the plastic that look removable..

Curiosity is asking if anyone knows what these are for or what could be put there?!

If you talking bout what i think you are the squares are removable to get to a torx head screw to get the door trim off???
