Hey all,

Have a slight issue.

I'll start by being 100% honest, I may have lost traction standing still for a few or more then a few seconds at my house a while back - and have had this vibration since :-0 lol

It's most noticible under acceleration in 1st and 2nd gear - now I can feel it in 3rd as well and I'm getting a loud but dull noise coming through when I'm in 3rd gear and above - still under acceleration. Feels like its towards the rear of the car so, diff? Centre bearing? Tail shaft? Uni???

Got under it today because I had to put new exhaust mounts on it. Couldnt find anything that seemed wrong? Usual play in the shaft when you turn it. Didn't move up and down or back and forth. (except at the centre bearing, but isn't that normal to have a bit of movement in that join?)

Anyone with some advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ben

Check the rubber couplings on the tail shaft, they split and cause vibrations

I'm assuming that is sarc?

Pretty sure it's a metal coupling on VT and earlier.

I would be looking in the direction of the tail and drive shafts, though buggered if I know how you would go about working out which it is. Guess jack up the car and spin each wheel in turn while having your head under there to see if you can see any wobble.

Hi all, sorry for not replying, I found its the rubber spacer right at the back of the tail shaft that joins the shaft to the diff.
Thanks for your help,

Being an sv6, I assume mines meant to have an LSD eh?

Knew it was those, they always break and cause vibrations
