Hoping to get some assistance....
Have a WM Caprice 6.0Lt that I did a AFM Lifter Delete and installed a stage 1 222-228 Camshaft. After the Cam install I had the car towed to a mechanic to ECM Tune the car. After he had the bloody car for 2 weeks he rang me and said he couldn't finish the Tune because the transmission was slipping at top end. I collected the car and took it to a Transmission specialist who told me the person that did the tune had put too much pressure in the Transmission causing it to start slipping (Transmission had around 200K on it and shouldn't of been adjusted so much). He did manage to flash the Transmission to stock which removed the slipping at top end but unfortunately left the car Flaring when coming to a stop. The question I'm asking is I would prefer to not take the car back to this mechanic which leaves me 2 options (1) Find another place to Tune the ECM or (2) Purchase a Tuner and attempt tuning it myself (I am a mechanic but I left the trade years ago and really didn't get into the Computer tuning side of things). Appreciate any Help / Suggestions......
