i recently bought a automatic v6 Commodore 2003 that’s been manualised through an ECU and kinda goes into limp mode . How do i make it just go back to regular auto?

Could be the "power" button which holds the gear for longer?

I would lay money that it has a buggered gearbox and they told you it was manual shift.
There should be a Powertrain module that controls the gearbox, not the ECM. The Powertrain module is not VIN matched so easy to change.

However, first. First get a scan tool onto it to see what the code produced is and start from there.

I’d start looking for another gearbox.
