Engine splutter under 2000 rpm

About 2 weeks ago I started to get engine splutter under 2000 rpm.

If I take of really soft I don't get any issues, but if 50 per cent it splutters then goes away around 2000 rpm.

If in 5 or 6 at around 2200rpm and I floor it , it splutters and gear stick wobbles ( manual).

I drive this car hard with most shifts at 4k rpm. Never had a problem.

I have read that is might be sparks, leads..clutch?

Any ideas

if u havnt done plugs in a while just do them just use some TR6 or so they are cheap and work good, check leads whilst ur at it make sure one hasnt rubbed on the oil stick or at the back near firewall just encase, dont make it splutter that is not good if its going lean causing backfires that can cause other issues if done all the time or if lucky if its a plug/lead then its just not firing right then its better then a lean issue

How do I clean the maf.

I am knowledge poor, but i can take stuff apart and put back together. You tube and so forth.

Car got serviced april this year and is up to date. 65k on the clock.

Also about 2 days ago, or maybe it happened same time. There is a tick tick noise up high on one side. Only heard is cuase I was in a enclosed parking area. Not massive loud, but I know it is new.

Since issue I have been driving car only to work, softly. In 2 weeks I have holidays so if I cannot fix it or narrow it down, I will pay someone .

But I have time in the avo's this week, but cannot go without car.

I am going to look at leads tomorrow, my work just stopped me from having the time to do.

Just looked at supercheap auto, bosh VE set of 4 $110, so $220 that ok, didn't see TR6

My VU 3.8 (auto) does the same thing and i have just had new plugs and leads about 6 weeks ago and it has been doing this for a while now and it was only serviced last week.

Hows the throttle body look like?

I'd investigate that ticking noise before you go spending any money. It might be an injector playing up.

everyone looks ok. Might just wait and take it down mechanic next week
