I have a VT series 2 engine with 80,000 ks that's being rebuild and is to go into our Rat Rod project and am wondering does anyone know what parts on the V6 engines talk to the computer.

What I'm asking is when doing an engine swap I believe you must have the original computer box otherwise the engine won't start and I'm wondering why is this so?

I can't see anything that the computer box needs to talk to unless its something to do with the electrics or the coils.

Can anyone help, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
