what exhaust mods would i get to get the loudest best sound out of my vr ute...? wats a cat back?

Just get extractors and a 2.5" exhaust like everyone else..

catback is an exhaust just from the cat (catalytic converter) back... hence the name.

my old calais had a 2.5" system with 1 muffler and a mild cam.. sounded pretty much identical to a 308

as u have a ute, get paceys and run twin cats into twin 2 inch pipes with single muffler on each pipe and then dump DOWN before the rear diff. its fully legal as it is after the rear most opening by more than 330mm. the dumping down will give a good pumping noise too (look at the hotrods that run nearly standard engines but still sound tuff) itll sound pretty good. lukey have a really good sounding muffler if u want to spend that sort of money

2 1/2" mandrel bent system with a lukey l2121 muffler and a l9209 resonator, excellent combination. Sounds tuff.

my v6 vr has a redback 2.5inch cat back system without the rear resonator and it sounds a bit like a v8 it crackles and stuff.
most of my mates thought i had a v8 in it
