to be honest, i think the calais are sex on wheels , but the problem is i constantly hear about the 3L stuffing up, and hear that the carby 5L aint much.... wouldnt mind a buick engine in there or a injected 5L mmmmm....

it's like any motor -it's all about what you do with it. The 3L are pretty strong overall, and the 5L get a bit of poke with some mild work

i dont like the carby 5ltr... thats why im putting an inj 5ltr in my wagon...i like the calais LE aswell, the le kit is nice but not overdone like the walky or director

I was never big on the Calais front end, and they tend to screw up especially now they have some age on them.
I love the late V6 engine so I decided to rebuild a VL Berlina and drop a tweaked V6 (VR) into the engine bay backed by V8 drive train. (T5 - 308:1 Diff).
Early days yet but it should be the best of both worlds.
The VL body is hot in the right colour.

i love the calais but hate the look of the seats (vl calais with blue vh sl/e or vk calais seats and i'm drooling)
