fuel sender unit

Does anybody know if an aftermarket fuel sender unit is available to suit vr tank and fuel gauge? Im chasing something with half inch pickup tube. Or am I going to have to try and modify one? If that's the case does anybody know how the level sender mechanism comes up so I don't fry it when I tig a fitting to it? Just melted one tigging a fitting on, Even when cooling it every few dabs of filler.

if it's got the plastic sender it will just clip off, or if it's the solid mount could just silver soldier a pipe in and cool it off quick after, I've modified some of the earlier hq type senders to half inch pipe with good results so with a bit of bending should be fine...
