Grille mesh

I would like to install a grille mesh to cover the gaping hole and protect my radiator. I called Holden and they advised that the mesh they sell is $138! can anyone tell me if this is any better than the mesh you buy in Supercheap or such places?

My second question is, do you have to take the front spoiler off to fit it or can it be fitted with it in place? what is the best/easiest way to actually fit it.

Assistance is greatly appreciated.

the holden mesh will be the proper- black thick mesh you will see on the vz's.
basically - holden stuff good and genuine
supacheap- cheap stuff
best bet get a customising place to get some nice chrome look mesh made up with a surround to fix.

its esier to fix it if the front bumper is off but can still do it while attached

I'll will be interested to see which way go with this I was looking at the front of my car today after I filled it up and thought it would look better with some mesh in there I might have to do the same thing..

can get it from work in a variety of colours, think there is blue, red, silver and black...i think it's pretty good quality only prob is the holes in the mesh are quite big....but its metal and looks decent quality. there is someone on this site that did a how to i think using the mesh from work (supercheap).

do a serach and see how it goes, but our stuff is a lot cheaper than $138....

I bought the Holden part (they call it an insect screen) and fitted it to my VY SS some months back.

I liked it because it is the right size/shape and it comes with special little brackets which means you dont have to go drilling holes in anything. I reckon it's a 100% improvement on before when you could see all the plumbing from the aircon/radiator through the lower air dam.

It's a bit fiddly, but you can fit it with the front bar still on. All you have to do is take off the front grille (3 screws) and feed it in that way.

I`m going to try the cheap way first, got the mesh from Supercheap for $30, can anybody give me some instructions on front bumper removal please?
