Has anyone painted their dash surround the VZ 'steel' colour?

I put some steel/silverish/greyish what ever colour it's actually called VZ air vents in my front doors and I'm loving the look and was thinking about getting my dash surround that same colour. I was just wondering if anyone else has done it to their VT or VX? I've attached a image of the colour in question (picture of VZ air vent in my VT) Just curious to see how it would look in a VT Commodore before I go ahead and do it.

The VX ss dash surround may be the thing you're looking for, it's a silver colour very similar to the air vent you've got.

I'm aware of the VX SS surround (which does look awesome), but I was wondering if anyone has had the same idea as myself and has actually painted their surround themselves the colour of the VZ air vents. I've seen it done in all sorts of colours, but never that specific colour I'm on about.

Take the part into a paint store and get it matched...

If there is a part painted it can be matched, my VXII Clubsport had the silver dash - I didn't fancy it and got gloss black instead, what most people fail to realise is that even if it's that rubbish grey colour it's grey paint.

I would just remove the dash pieces and a vent then take them to a panel shop and get them to do it, I did mine that way only set me back $80.

I still need to get that back part done too, that pic just reminded me, lol.

Yeah that sounds like what I'll have to do.

Saw this on the net somewhere..Vy and vz..cant be totally sure.
Black vents only came out in 4 Holden Factory finished colours.

The silvers ones are usually aftermarket. Mine came from a guy who got a whole warehouse full of Holden NOS and painted several hundred sets silver. That said, it's identical in colour to the siler VXSS dash, however if buying online be mindful that there is also a dark grey dash that can look similar in certain lighting.

Got a quote for a colour match and to get the trims painted - $120

I'll end up getting that done in a few weeks time or so
