Not here to hear about how HIDs are illegal just have a question. ..

I installed some h4 low beam hids to my VX they work well except when I turn on my normal high beams the low beam HIDs cut out?

Looking for anyone else who has had those trouble and how to fix it..

Thanks
Nick

Pretty sure the standard halogens are dual filament? Theyve got three pins on the globes. When high beam goes in it switches the other filament on... Sounds like you've got your HID's hooked up to only one of the feeds: the regular headlight feed. Search for "Monaro Headlight wiring mod" if this is the case, walks you through how to change to switch wiring so the low beam doesn't turn off.

Only other thing would be the highbeam switch itself. But it sounds just like what happens when you install Monaro headlights without changing to wiring to support them, low beam goes off when high goes on.

I don't know if it'll work with your set up.
The white and white/black wires on the indicator-high beam/low beam stalk have to be bridged (joined together).
Then both high and low beam will come on together.

Before trying that are you sure the kit you have is a h4 hi-low system ? I had a h4 hi-low system on my stock vz sv6 lights ... When the highbeam was switched on the low beams would get brighter and stay on ... When I changed to vz ss/Calais projector lights I had an issue with the low beam turning off when the highbeam was switched on and only the did I bridge the wires together ...

Aren't the vx standard high/low globes H1's x2. The same as the VT?

Thread dig, but stock vt and VX are h4 high/low with an extra circuit for the h1 near grill, kind of like spot lights.
The altezza/eBay lights change this to both h1, with the projector using a relay to keep the low beam h1 on when the high beam is turned on (so both globes illuminate when high is selected).
