Just giving this thread a *bump* so hopefully someone can point out whats missing. It's got me beat but then again I bumped my head earlier so not really seeing straight.

The reason the high beam probably didn't light up fully is that you didn't have the car started.
As in the battery might be a bit weak.
The HID's might not draw as much power as a normal halogen globe, but the ballasts take a
bit of juice.

When you started the car with the lights on, they dimmed, as they would do, but it looked to me that
the ballast did not fire back up properly and when you flicked the stalk, it brought it back to life.

The high beams came on dull without actually engaging the high beams, then once I engaged high beams they were bright as normal and HIDs turned off.

It was weird, either way I got it sorted out and they seem to be working how they should be now. Thanks for the help!
